The Renegade Craft Fair is coming to San Francisco for its annual summer marketplace of curated handmade goods.  Come out and support your local artisans at Fort Mason, this weekend, Friday (July 26th) and Saturday (July 27th).

Modes of Transport | the Faraday

How darling is this electric(!) bicycle?  A classic design with a modern boost makes the Faraday Porteur a lovely way to get around town.  Check out their kickstarter to learn more (and for a peek at a few of our favorite spots around San Francisco).

Sugar-coated NIGHTLIFE

Kate and I wanted to have a night out before she flew home, next week.  We thought an evening of science & chocolate just might suffice.

Be right back, San Francisco

I'm taking a quick trip to Los Angeles to visit my dearest friend and celebrate our first Halloween together on the west coast.  I have the start of a Mary Poppins costume and a recipe for blackberry meyer lemon gin & tonics, at the ready, and cannot wait to explore!

In the meantime, I will trust my hearts to San Francisco and appreciate the safety of our loved ones, near and far.  The stories and images pouring out of the Northeast have been heartbreaking -- I hope that wherever you are, you are safe and warm.

If you are in a position to do so, please consider making a donation to the Red Cross relief efforts.

Tea time at Samovar

Samovar Tea Lounge is a small chain of three teahouses in San Francisco -- their vision: "to change the world one cup of tea at a time." They house an impressive array of loose teas and complementary cuisine from around the world, paying particular care to traditional presentation and experience.
